March 1, 2013- Dying With Faith? Bridging the Gap between Physicians, Clergy and Families (a Town Hall Meeting)
WHAT: The Palliative Care and Spiritual Care departments of DMC Harper University Hospital and Hutzel Women’s Hospital are hosting a free community event on the topic of Palliative care - the practice of medicine that helps families and their critically ill loved ones deal with the emotional, practical and spiritual concerns involved when loved ones are terminally and/or chronically ill. Other aspects of Palliative care, such as how to manage pain as well as other symptoms and side effects from serious illnesses or treatments will also be discussed. The program will include presentations on Palliative care, the role of clergy in Palliative care and, an expert panel discussion with physicians and area spiritual leaders.
